Research topics
Keyword: Multi-agent Systems, Embodied Intelligence, Lifelong Learning, Reinforcement Learning
My research interests are:
-
Developing developmental and lifelong learning mechanisms that enable embodied agents to progressively construct internal representations through sensorimotor interaction.
-
Investigating how prediction errors, critical learning periods, and curriculum design can support the emergence and hierarchical organization of representations without relying on predefined symbolic knowledge.
- Designing modular cognitive architectures that allow situated agents to detect changes in themselves and their environment, adapt their behavior, and share information in multi-agent settings.

Additional information
My name is Weikang, and I have been a PhD student in computer science since October 2023. I come from Guangzhou, China. I began learning French and pursuing my university studies in Besançon, France. I am currently working at the Grenoble INP – LCIS laboratory in Valence, France.
My PhD thesis is about the lifelong development of representations for artificial agents. Together with my supervisors Michel Occello, François Suro, and Clément Raïevsky, I investigate how a developmental approach can help artificial agents progressively construct internal representations while acquiring new behaviours.
