Welcome to Qinyu Liu, the new PhD student of the ORSYS team since October 13th, 2025.
He is supervised by Nicolas Barbot.
His office is in Building AB, 2nd floor, A222.
Can you introduce yourself briefly?
I am Qinyu LIU and I am originally from Guizhou, China. I am 24 years old and was born in the Year of the Serpent. In 2019, I moved to Chengdu, China, to the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC), where I began my academic career. In 2022, during my third year of bachelor's degree, I came to Paris for an exchange at ISEP and obtained my engineering diploma in 2025. It was in Paris that I discovered France and learned a new foreign language, French. In July 2025, I completed a five-month internship at LCIS and decided to stay to pursue my doctorate with my thesis advisor, Nicolas Barbot.
What is your background (education, experience...)?
I obtained my bachelor's degree in electronic information science and technology from UESTC in 2023. I then obtained my engineering diploma in telecommunications and IoT at ISEP Paris in 2025. In February 2025, I began my internship at LCIS, focusing on RFID tags and chaotic systems. I have acquired extensive knowledge in physics, electromagnetic fields, communications, circuits, and other areas, and I hope to use these skills for my doctoral research.
Can you explain briefly your thesis topic?
My research focuses on the recognition of RFID reflection signals based on chaotic systems. The initial goal is to replace traditional RFID chips with microelectromechanical systems designed based on chaotic systems, conferring unique and irreplaceable physical properties to the reflected signals, thereby improving the encryption level of RFID signals.
What skills can you share?
Since my bachelor's degree, I have been conducting research in physics, electromagnetic fields, radiofrequency signals, antennas, and other areas. I hope to share my knowledge with you so that we can learn from each other and progress together.
Where can one find you? How can one contact you?
My office is currently located in Building A, A222. My email address is qinyu.liu

Would you like to share anything else?
I enjoy swimming, traveling, and music. I also appreciate outdoor activities such as camping, barbecue, and skiing (even though I have not yet practiced them). Do not hesitate to invite me to your events!
