Alice BARBOU internship at LCIS laboratory

Here is her presentation in a few words:

“Coming from a literary background and after a preparatory class in classical literature, I turned towards the field of marketing and communication.
I first graduated from Rennes 2 University with a degree in Communication and Information as well as from Meiji University (Tokyo) in Japanese Media and Communication, and finally earned an International MBA in Brand Strategy at Sup de Pub London.

I have been able to write and conduct research myself on themes related to minorities and communitarianism (more specifically lesbian women in France), as well as on rainbow-washing and the place of LGBT communities in advertising.

Following these studies, I first turned to international marketing and cultural adaptation within a major cosmetics brand in England.
I then returned to France to become self-employed as a digital communication consultant.
I also had the opportunity to work as a lecturer in communication schools with young students. Later, I held the position of educational manager at one of these schools for all of its programs.

Currently undergoing a career change, I am pursuing training in development at the Epitech school in Lyon.

I am affiliated with the laboratory’s communication project under the supervision of Denis Genon-Catalot for a duration of 5 months.

My missions for the coming months will mainly consist of working on optimizing the laboratory’s website in order to better communicate about the 3 research teams and the laboratory’s activities in general. This will involve thinking about the structure of the site, its content, its form, as well as how to increase external visits to the site.
The missions may also extend to the laboratory’s intranet in order to propose solutions to make its use easier.

I am very happy to be able to carry out this internship within LCIS as it represents a nice bridge between my different past experiences and my new skills.”
