Seminar
On 9 November 2022
Valence
The Thematic Day on Injection Attacks (JAIF): Physical attacks, material and software protections, evaluation mechanisms for robustness will be held in Valence on Wednesday, November 9th, 2022 at the Grenoble INP – Esisar premises. This day marks the 5th edition of the events focused on themes related to injection flaws. Injection attacks are a technique often exploited by attackers to extract confidential data from embedded systems. These attacks are becoming increasingly complex, with examples such as multiple injections or combining them with hidden channel observations.
This day aims to bring together the academic, industrial, and government communities to emerge new collaborations, considering numerous domains from physics to software, to design:
• Injection fault tools and models
• Simulation tools and formal methods for evaluating robustness and understanding impact of faults
• Security proofs
• Material or software-based protection mechanisms or detection mechanisms
• Automated tools for designing robust embedded systems
The day will be composed of invited talks by senior researchers or industry experts, as well as selected presentations based on abstracts. New feature: this year, there will be poster sessions during the breaks and lunchtime. The program will be designed to maximize interactions between participants and proposals will be selected based on a balance between themes.
Previsional program for the day (plenary talks and poster sessions).
Registration. To register, complete the following form: https://jaif.io/2022/inscription.html
Registration is free but mandatory for logistical reasons. The number of participants in person is limited to 100 people. Registration will be closed on October 28th, 2022.
This year, JAIF will take place the day before the European finals of the largest international student cybersecurity competition CSAW, which will be held at Grenoble INP – Esisar premises in Valence. As a result, participants to JAIF can attend or participate (subject to registration and selection in September) in the Applied Research Competition finals, a competition reserved for PhD students (selected by a jury composed of industry professionals from the best cybersecurity paper of the year), and the Embedded Security Challenge (hack an embedded system imposed with technical presentations).
Following the JAIF program on Wednesday, a public cybersecurity conference given by partner industries of CSAW will be organized in the late afternoon. This conference will be followed by a cocktail and a "Social Event" for JAIF participants.
JAIF is sponsored by Ledger, Secure-IC, Thales DIS Design services SAS, and has received support from ANSSI, FMNT, and Persyval-Lab.
