Welcome to Meng Yang, the new PhD student of the ORSYS team from the 1st of November 2023.
He is supervised by Nicolas BARBOT.
His office is in the AB building, 2nd floor, A222.
Can you introduce yourself in a few words?
My name is Meng YANG and I come from China. I'm currently working at the Lcis laboratory as a doctoral student.
What's your background (education, experience...)?
I obtained my bachelor's degree in automation and French from Qingdao University of Science and Technology in 2021. Then, I earned my engineering diploma from ESIEE Paris and my master's degree from Gustave Eiffel University in 2023. In 2022 and 2023, I completed internships at the ESYCOM laboratory of Gustave Eiffel University, working on modeling low-noise amplifiers and transceivers for 5G FR2.
Can you briefly explain your thesis topic?
My thesis topic is "Non-linear Transponders for Information Identification and Capture". RFID recognizes targets through non-contact communication between readers and tags, and the reading distance is always an important indicator. Using a non-linear transponder allows the frequency component to be generated around the central frequency of the carrier instead of multiples of the central frequency of the carrier like harmonics. This increases conversion efficiency and simplifies the transmitter-receiver architecture, eliminating the need for additional batteries while significantly increasing the reading distance.
Where can you be found? How can one reach you?
